ABOUT US

“Travel is not a reward for

working. It’s education for

living.”

Anthony Bourdain

We are normal, everyday New Yorkers, with our hearts shared between Oregon and Iceland, documenting our travels as we go. We make videos first and foremost for ourselves, which is why you will not hear constant narration or see us on camera all the time. We care more about exploring a place and about capturing the feeling of it than explaining it. Our videos, photos, and writing are a way to remember where we have been and what it felt like to be there.

This site brings everything together. Our YouTube channel, travel photography, photo books, and long-form writing all live here, alongside the practical details for those who want them and Kassie's novel/poetry work. The descriptions, captions, and blog posts include more context, recommendations, and links when you are looking to plan your own path.

Originally from Iowa (Kassie) and Kansas (Rick), we met in Kansas in 2005 and quickly discovered a shared desire to see the world. After our first international trip to Iceland, we began intentionally catching up on travel. Today, alongside our full-time jobs, we explore our backyard in New York and the East Coast, travel across the US, and venture beyond our borders whenever we can. Kassie is also an author, and we are actively creating and sharing travel photography books as part of this journey.

EXPLORE BY TRIP

Some journeys are best experienced start to finish. Here, our travels are organized by individual trips, capturing how each one came together, from the first day to the last.

3

EXPLORE OUR VIDEOS

We make videos for ourselves first, focusing on the feel of a place rather than constant narration or on-camera moments. These films capture movement, atmosphere, and memory, with additional details and links included in the descriptions if you want to go deeper.
